Need help understanding the "display debug buffer views" option.

edited August 2013 in MixEmergency
There is a white line in the middle and the grey buffer bar will move to left and right side of that while line. What does this represent? Left of line is good and right is bad?? lol

Thanks in advance

  • There's a buffer that holds decoded frames of the video in the memory of the computer. The white line is the currently playing position of the video. So, when playing forwards, you want at least a tiny bit of grey bar in front of the white line (otherwise it won't be able to display the currently playing video). It's more of a tool to diagnose problems when playing certain videos, so unless you're having problems I would leave it turned off.
