Yes, trigger when you turn it on, synced to the nearest beat would be fine. I guess what i'm looking for is a way to cycle through effects while I'm scratching, on beat so the visuals are changing

Hey Nick - i think you're right... i managed to narrow down the spot where something happened (probably as you said a USB drop out) and managed to fix it.
What ive been doing is recording on ME, but also recording a Ableton Live .als m… -
I didnt notice any - but im wondering if its because I wasnt looking for it all (too busy looking at the preview screens etc). If anything I didnt notice any lag during recording.
ill try another mix and keep an eye out for it
Hey Nick - Ive just tried another export and something else weird is happening.
One thing I'll let you know is that ive also tried moving the performance file that ME creates when recording the video mix to my iMac to do the exporting. …ok cool - ill leave it with you until you resolve!
